Human TRAFFICKING Awareness CE/Adrian

February 7, 2017

There is a need to build awareness in Michigan communities on issues directly or indirectly relating to human trafficking. Human trafficking is not a new phenomenon, nor a crime that just happens “somewhere else.” It is a form of modern-day slavery and the fastest-growing international crime industry (United Nations, 2010). The magnitude of this horrific human-rights violation is almost inconceivable and yet, the medical and nursing professions are, for the most part, relatively uninformed and ill-prepared to address this issue and assist in intervening on behalf of victims who present for care (Moynihan, 2011).

Two sessions:

8:00 – 9:30am
12:00 noon – 1:30pm

Registration and Fees

FREE for MNA members , $10 for non-members.

Registration is closed.

At the end of this continuing nursing education session, participants will:

  • Describe the involvement and extent of human trafficking.
  • Identify ways nurses can recognize and assist victims.
